Our Story

Hello!  I’m Kristin Douglas, Mama to two girls and two boys and wife to Kaden. We are happiest when we are adventuring together as a family which is where the inspiration for Waypoint started. 

I made my first scratch off map in 2014. I wanted something to put on our walls to show our travels. I came across the idea after finding a recipe for homemade scratch off paint.  I had already painted a watercolor map so the two ideas came together perfectly.  My first maps were messy and imperfect but I loved them!  And I quickly found that everyone else loved them too! After having Emery, I quickly realized I needed to streamline this process and that’s what you have now. 

I never imagined that my small business would be where it is today, but now I can’t stop imagining about all the places these maps will go.  We are so passionate about encouraging families to travel together and to get out and explore new places.
